Half of all adults diagnosed with diabetes also have osteoarthritis, according to the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control. In fact, when the CDC analyzed combined 2005 and 2007 data from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, it found that the prevalence of arthritis in adults with diabetes was 52.0%, compared with 26.9% of the general adult population. The data also indicated that 29.8% of adults with combined diabetes and arthritis were physically inactive, as compared to 21.0% of those with diabetes alone. Read more »
